The Walking Dead in the 2013 Critics’ Choice Awards

The 2013 Critics’ Choice Awards nominees have been chosen, and a few of them are from The Walking Dead.

Excerpts from the Press Release: The Broadcast Television Journalists Association (BTJA) announced nominations for the 3rd annual Critics’ Choice Television Awards, which will be held the evening of Monday, June 10, 2013, at The Beverly Hilton Hotel. For the first time the award show will be webcast live on UStream.

HBO led the networks in most nominations with 21, followed closely by FX, which collected 19. Topping the list of nominated series are “The Big Bang Theory” (CBS) and “American Horror Story: Asylum” (FX) with six nominations each. (For the full list visit the Critics’ Choice website.)

Submissions are still being accepted for The Most Exciting New Series category, which will be announced on Monday, June 3. Nominated programs and performances aired between June 1, 2012, and May 31, 2013. Bob Bain will executive produce the Critics’ Choice Television Awards for Bob Bain Productions.

“This year’s nominations reflect the expanding definition of television, with nominated programs and performances representing new platforms as well as broadcast and cable,” said BTJA President Joey Berlin. “As evidenced by nominations for the third annual Critics’ Choice Television Awards, television continues to be a rich and diverse source of high quality entertainment.”

  • BEST SUPPORTING ACTRESS IN A DRAMA SERIES – Jennifer Carpenter in Dexter
  • BEST MOVIE OR MINI-SERIES – American Horror Story: Asylum
  • BEST ACTOR IN A MOVIE OR MINI-SERIES – Toby Jones  in The Girl
  • BEST ACTRESS IN A MOVIE OR MINI-SERIES – Jessica Lange in American Horror Story: Asylum
  • BEST SUPPORTING ACTOR IN A MOVIE OR MINI-SERIES -James Cromwell in American Horror Story: Asylum; Zachary Quinto in American Horror Story: Asylum
  • BEST SUPPORTING ACTRESS IN A MOVIE OR MINI-SERIES – Sienna Miller in The Girl;  Sarah Paulson in American Horror Story: Asylum; Lily Rabe in American Horror Story: Asylum; Imelda Staunton in The Girl
